So far my research position has mostly consisted of me reading things about Wooster and Wayne County. So far I’ve learned some pretty interesting things: why the Beall in Beall Avenue is pronounced “bell” (no word on why Wooster doesn’t rhyme with rooster), who the first white man was to die in Wayne county (it was dehydration. He ran from Sandusky to Wooster looking for his horse), that at the first wedding in Wayne county all 10 residents of the county were present, that the Old Jaol is actually Wooster’s third jail, and that the College’s own President Wishart once made a pact with Satan (one of his classmates was nicknamed Satan). I think this is a good start.IMG_6465
